Job summary

NBMLHD is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Rehabilitation Ward at Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital. The role focuses on delivering patient-centred care to support recovery after illness, injury, surgery or health events.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans, conduct assessments, monitor progress, and provide education and support to patients and carers throughout rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated recent experience and clinical skills as a Registered Nurse relevant to the position including completion of a new graduate Registered Nurse program or equivalent clinical experience.
• Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
• Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work including working collaboratively.
• Demonstrated effective communication using information technology, written and verbal means.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and quality improvement.
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to work a flexible rotating roster, day, evening or night shift across all days of the week according to requirements.

We are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to join our Rehabilitation Ward team and provide high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive and collaborative environment.

As a Registered Nurse in our Rehabilitation Ward, you will play a vital role in assisting patients to achieve their maximum level of independence and wellbeing following illness, injury, surgery, or other health events. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including medical officers, allied health professionals, nursing colleagues, patients and their families to develop and implement individualised care plans that support rehabilitation goals and positive patient outcomes.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering safe and comprehensive nursing care, conducting patient assessments, monitoring progress, administering medications and treatments, and providing education and support to patients and carers throughout their rehabilitation journey. You will be encouraged to utilise your clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, and compassionate approach to empower patients and promote recovery.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to evidence-based practice, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
