Job summary

NSW Health's St Vincent's Public Hospital in Sydney is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Recovery Unit. You will assess patients after surgery, coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team, and ensure smooth communication with anaesthetists and surgeons.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with Division 1 registration in Australia (AHPRA).
• Experience in acute care settings such as operating theatres or equivalent.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team and communicate effectively.
• Demonstrates integration of theory and clinical skills in daily practice.
• Strong time management and prioritisation in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients post-surgery and anaesthesia, identify nursing needs and monitor health status.
• Develop and provide nursing care in collaboration with patient and multidisciplinary team; evaluate progress and outcomes.
• Coordinate ongoing care and facilitate communication with anaesthetists, surgeons, and relevant services.
• Lead nursing care coordination within the Recovery Unit and work with the team.
• Delegate care to Enrolled Nurses and Healthcare Workers while remaining accountable.
