NSW Health in the Mid North Coast region is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Palliative Care Unit at Wauchope District Memorial Hospital. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team and utilising the PCOC framework to achieve optimal outcomes.

This permanent, part-time role (38 hours per week) involves a seven-day rotating roster, including public holidays and night duty.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse within our Palliative Care Unit, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate and evaluate patient care, utilising the Palliative Care Outcomes Collaboration (PCOC) framework to achieve the best possible outcomes.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to apply advanced clinical skills, participate in meaningful end-of-life conversations, and provide holistic support to patients and their loved ones. You will also contribute to team leadership, mentor colleagues, and help foster a culture of excellence in palliative care practice. The position operates on a seven-day rotating roster, including public holidays and night duty.

About You

You are a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse with a genuine passion for palliative care and improving the quality of life for patients and families during some of their most challenging times. You bring strong clinical assessment and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to engage in sensitive conversations around palliative and end-of-life care.

You thrive in a multidisciplinary environment, have strong organisational and time management skills, and are committed to ongoing professional development. Whether you already hold, are currently undertaking, or are willing to enrol in postgraduate palliative care studies, you are dedicated to delivering person-centred care with empathy, professionalism, and respect.
