Job summary

Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a Registered Nurse for paediatric care at Mount Druitt Hospital. You will join a supportive multidisciplinary team to provide safe, family-centred nursing for children and their families in a dynamic clinical setting.

The role focuses on developing paediatric nursing skills, mentoring junior staff, and delivering high-quality care within a busy hospital environment. A temporary full-time arrangement is offered with a paid hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Recent nursing experience relevant to paediatric care.
• Commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based care.
• Ability to lead, supervise, delegate and negotiate to deliver quality nursing care.
• Strong clinical communication using IT, written and verbal skills.

Position Classification: Registered Nurse

Remuneration: $41.22 - $57.88 per hour

Hours Per Week: 38 (Job share may be considered for part time hours)

• Delegate and supervise care provided by Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing within their scope of practice.
• Support students and colleagues through supervision, mentoring and sharing clinical knowledge.

Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated recent nursing experience relevant to the position and commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based practice.
• Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to patient care.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, delegate, and negotiate with others to deliver quality nursing care.
• Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology, written and verbal means, and sound interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.

Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
