Job summary

St Vincent's Private Hospital Launceston is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Suite. The role involves perioperative care across the Theatre and PACU, with instrument and circulating duties and a preference for orthopaedic theatre experience.

You will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care throughout the surgical journey.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Recent experience in a perioperative setting.
• Experience in instrument and circulating nursing roles; PACU experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centred care in a perioperative environment (Operating Theatre & PACU).
• Provide skilled nursing in the Operating Theatre (instrument and circulating roles).
• Assess, monitor and care for patients in the PACU.
• Maintain clear communication with patients, carers and multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to clinical excellence, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Support a collaborative team culture focused on optimal patient outcomes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join St Vincent's Private Hospital Launceston as we continue to grow and expand our Theatre Services.

This position will suit an experienced perioperative nurse with demonstrated skills in instrument and circulating nursing and PACU. Experience within orthopaedic surgery is highly desirable.

As a Registered Nurse within our Theatre Department, you will work across a dynamic perioperative environment, contributing to exceptional patient care within the Operating Theatre and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU). Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and multidisciplinary team, you will play an integral role in delivering safe, high-quality care throughout the surgical journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centred care within a safe and supportive perioperative environment

What You Bring
