Job summary

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) in Sydney is seeking a multi-skilled Registered Nurse to join the Neuroscience Ambulatory Care Unit. The role focuses on clinical testing of Neuroscience patients, including EEG recording across ambulatory and inpatient settings, and involvement in IV infusion and related diagnostic procedures.

• Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Understanding of evidence informed practice and critical thinking.
• Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work a Monday to Friday roster, 8:30 to 16:30.

Responsibilities

• Multi-skilled nursing role involving clinical testing of Neuroscience patients in ambulatory and inpatient settings.
• Record EEGs across clinical locations and monitor long-term Video EEG Telemetry.
• Administer intravenous injections and operate within IV Infusion Clinic.
• Support testing in ENT and Ophthalmology clinics as required by the Nursing Unit Manager.
• Join on-call roster when proficient in Neurophysiology testing and work after-hours as required.

About The Role

This is a multi-skilled nursing role principally involving clinical testing of Neuroscience patients in both the ambulatory and inpatient setting, working within the Neuroscience Ambulatory Care Unit. Clinical practice will include the recording of EEGs in various clinical locations, monitoring long term Video EEG Telemetry, tests required to diagnose disorders associated with Hearing and Balance, Autonomic Function Studies, Evoked Potentials, the administration of intravenous injections and working within the IV Infusion Clinic or any other testing which may become available as part of the diagnostic procedure within the Neurosciences Ambulatory Care Unit.

Additionally, other testing associated with Neurosciences including contributing to the operational management of the ENT and Ophthalmology clinics as required by the Nursing Unit Manager. Joining an on-call roster when proficient in Neurophysiology testing and working after-hours as required would be essential.
