Qualifications

Registered Nurse, Lockyer Valley Correctional Precinct. Permanent Relief Pool.Prison and Youth Detention Health Services, (PYDHS) is currently looking for registered nurse to provide primary health care to prisoners in the Lockyer Valley Correctional Precinct. The Lockyer Valley Correction Precinct is a prison precinct located in Spring Creek in the Lockyer Valley Region, 94km west form Brisbane and 56km east from Toowoomba. The precinct consists of a 450 bed women's correction facility and a 1536 bed men's correction facility.

PYDHS is a multi-disciplinary team providing a primary care model which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people in a correctional facility.

As a member of the permanent relief pool, you will undertake short-term contracts to provide backfill support during staff leave periods across both Lockyer Valley and Southern Queensland Correctional Centres. This dynamic role offers exposure to diverse clinical environments while contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services. The position is ideal for nurses seeking to expand their professional expertise, strengthen their clinical decision-making and autonomy, and develop a broad range of Primary Health Custodial nursing skills.
