Job summary

Canberra Health Services is offering a part-time, temporary Registered Nurse Level 2 position in the Clinical Forensic Medical Service. The role focuses on forensic nursing and medical sexual assault care, with duties in police custody support and cognitive screening within a driving clinic.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team, delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to vulnerable individuals. Closing date is 1 October 2026, with options for extension or permanency.

Qualifications

• Qualified registered nurse with current registration in Australia.
• Experience in forensic nursing and sexual assault care is desirable.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialised forensic and medical nursing care.
• Support individuals in police custody in partnership with ACT Policing.
• Contribute to cognitive screening and assessments within the Fitness to Drive Medical Clinic.

About the Role:

Make a difference in a truly unique nursing role with the Clinical Forensic Medical Service (CFMS). As a Forensic Nurse Examiner, you will provide specialised care across forensic and medical sexual assault services, support individuals in police custody in partnership with ACT Policing, and contribute to cognitive screening and assessments within the Fitness to Drive Medical Clinic.
