Job summary

NSW Health's Royal North Shore Hospital invites applications for permanent and part-time Registered Nurse positions on Ward 9A. The General Medical Nursing team provides evidence-based, patient-centred care in a 30-bed unit, with opportunities across specialties and a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, demonstrate strong communication, and meet NSW Health's immunisation and OASV requirements.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current experience in an acute hospital environment.
  • Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.

Where you'll be working

Ward 9A is a challenging and rewarding 30 bed capacity medical ward with General Medicine, Endocrinology, Pain Management, and Immunology patients. You will be working within a multidisciplinary team focused on evidence-based patient centred care, health promotion and early intervention, to promote a safe discharge home or transfer to the appropriate post-acute hospital care.

What you'll be doing

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current experience in an acute hospital environment.
  • Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.

Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

This is a NSW Health Category A position which requires immunisation and screening for certain diseases. The full list of requirements are outlined in the NSW Health OASV Policy(Page 11). You will be required to complete the OASV Undertaking/ Declaration Form and TB Assessment Tool during the recruitment process.
