Job summary

West Gippsland Healthcare Group in Warragul, Victoria, is seeking qualified nurses for ongoing opportunities in our Medical Ward. We welcome applicants with AHPRA registration and flexible availability to cover all shifts.

The role offers comprehensive orientation, learning opportunities, car parking, and salary packaging options. Ideal candidates will have excellent organisational and communication skills, a patient-centred mindset, and are committed to team-based care.

  • Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC) can be organised through WGHG).
  • Candidates with recent critical care experience (HDU/CCU/ICU/ED) would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee processes required for a quality service with a patient-centred focus.
  • Provide nursing care in the Medical Ward.
  • Collaborate with the care team to deliver holistic patient care.

Job description

Multiple Permanent full time, part time and casual opportunities available

We currently have ongoing hours available in our Medical Ward for suitably qualified Nurses. Experience or post graduate qualifications in Critical Care would be highly regarded however not necessary. We offer a friendly, team focused work environment, comprehensive orientation to the department and organisation, in house salary packaging and free car parking. We have a learning culture that encourages ongoing education and offer generous study leave, support and assistance from our Ward based Educators.

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • Commitment to oversee the processes required for a quality service with a patient centred focus.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work all shifts
  • A commitment to a team approach to care delivery.
  • Police Check and current working with Children Check (can be organised through WGHG)

Candidates with the following would be highly regarded:

  • Recent critical care experience (HDU, CCU, ICU or ED)
  • Recent experience in a Medical Unit
  • Interest in palliative care

IMPORTANT:Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
