Job summary

Cooinda Aged Care in Gympie, QLD is hiring a Registered Nurse to deliver and oversee high-quality clinical care, support residents with complex needs, and lead care teams in a residential aged care setting.

The role requires current unrestricted AHPRA registration and a nursing degree, with strong assessment, planning, and communication skills. Part-time and casual positions with competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Nursing.
• Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills.
• Ability to lead and support care teams in a residential aged care environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with residents, families, and teams.
• Sound computer literacy and clinical documentation skills.
• Valid Police Check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or eligibility to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Deliver and oversee high-quality clinical care for residents.
• Conduct clinical assessments and develop person-centred care plans.
• Monitor resident health and evaluate care outcomes.
• Provide complex nursing care including wound management and chronic disease support.
• Respond to health concerns, deterioration and clinical emergencies.
• Support residents living with dementia with safe behavioural management.
• Administer and manage medications per guidelines.
• Support infection prevention and control initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and support Enrolled Nurses and Personal Carers.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and care records.
• Collaborate with residents, families and multidisciplinary teams.

Remuneration: $42.19 - $50.03 ph + (25% casual loading for casuals) + Super +Salary Packaging +Access to staff discounts & benefits

The Impact You'll Make:

As a Registered Nurse, you'll be responsible for delivering and overseeing high-quality clinical care while supporting residents with a range of complex and changing needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting clinical assessments and developing person-centred care plans
• Monitoring resident health and evaluating care outcomes
• Providing complex nursing care, including wound management and chronic disease support
• Responding to health concerns, acute deterioration and clinical emergencies
• Supporting residents living with dementia through safe behavioural management practices
• Delivering palliative and end-of-life care with compassion and professionalism
• Administering and managing medications in line with best practice guidelines
• Supporting infection prevention and control initiatives
• Leading, mentoring and supporting Enrolled Nurses and Personal Carers
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and care records
• Working collaboratively with residents, families and multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes
