Job summary

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is seeking a Regional Volunteer Development Trainer to support and deliver competency-based training, skills maintenance, and rebuild unit training capability across a diverse geographic region.

The role requires frequent regional travel, overnight stays, and weeknight/weekend delivery to engage with units. The successful candidate will uphold high professional standards and ensure compliant training records while collaborating with key VICSES leaders.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Regional Volunteer Development Trainer plays a key role in supporting and delivering competency-based training, skills maintenance, and the rebuilding of unit training capability across a diverse geographic region

Operating with a high level of professionalism and technical expertise, the RVDT works closely with the Operations Manager Learning & Development, Operations Officer - Lead Trainer (OO-LT), and Unit Support Teams to deliver competency-based training programs and skills maintenance activities. The role applies advanced knowledge of training frameworks and operational requirements to solve complex capability and workforce development challenges at a unit and regional level

The RVDT is accountable for maintaining accurate training and assessment records in line with VICSES Registered Training Organisation (RTO) requirements and VICSES health and safety standards, ensuring compliance and supporting organisational assurance

The position requires frequent regional travel, including overnight stays, and weeknight and weekend delivery to effectively engage with units

As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents
