Job summary

Sims Limited is seeking a Transport Manager to lead the regional transport network across South Australia and the Northern Territory. The role focuses on safety, operational excellence, cost performance, and strategic growth while guiding drivers and operations teams.

You will drive performance, manage fleet and contractor relationships, and deliver on regional targets with a strong emphasis on compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multi-site transport operations.
• Experience managing budgets, transport costs and performance.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building with contractors and suppliers.
• Good understanding of transport compliance, safety requirements and risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead transport operations across SA and NT with safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Manage fleet and network utilization to maximise assets.
• Oversee contractor performance, compliance, and transport rates for value.
• Own transport budgets, freight costs and operating expenses to meet targets.
• Collaborate with Operations and Commercial teams to improve service levels and profitability.
• Track KPIs on safety, service delivery, fleet utilisation and contractor performance.
• Identify improvement opportunities and implement efficiency changes.
• Ensure all transport activities comply with regulations and company standards.
• Travel to SA and NT sites as required to support operations.
