Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Tourism Development Officer to foster growth and sustainability of tourism in the Queenstown region. You will identify opportunities, develop new tourism products, and support local tourism businesses to enhance visitor experiences and economic impact.

Collaborate with local government, operators, communities and marketing agencies to promote the region domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in tourism development, planning, or related sector.
Strong understanding of tourism market dynamics, product development, and stakeholder engagement.
Excellent research, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
Proficiency in project management and report writing.
Effective communication and presentation skills, with ability to build relationships.

Responsibilities

Conduct research and analysis to identify tourism trends and market opportunities.
Develop and implement strategic plans for product development and diversification.
Support local tourism businesses, including SMEs.
Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote the region.
Facilitate partnerships among tourism stakeholders to foster growth.
Monitor impact of initiatives and prepare stakeholder reports.
