Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a Tourism and Events Manager to lead the Advance Rockhampton tourism and events teams, driving major events, festivals and regional growth.

You will develop strategies to promote Rockhampton as a premier destination, coordinate with stakeholders, manage budgets, and deliver sustainable growth for the region. This full-time, four-year contract offers an attractive salary of about $175,000 per year including superannuation and vehicle allowance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Marketing, Business Management, or related field.
• Experience in event management and regional tourism.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead tourism and events teams to develop and deliver major regional events.
• Promote Rockhampton as a premier destination for festivals and tourism.
• Collaborate with councils, sponsors, and partners to grow appeal and economic impact.
• Oversee budgeting, reporting, and program evaluation.
