Job description

Reporting to the SVP, Infrastructure & Enterprise Technology, the Regional Technology Director (RTD) is a senior leadership role within News Corp's Global Technology (GT) services organisation, embedded within the News Corp Australia Business Unit (BU). As a member of the local Technology Senior Leadership Team, with a dotted-line relationship to the Regional CTO, the RTD represents GT within the Australian business and serves as a primary technology interface between the BU and the broader GT service organisation. The role provides a critical two-way connection between local business priorities and global technology capabilities—bringing the scale, expertise and capabilities of GT into the BU while ensuring local requirements and priorities are reflected in global technology strategy and delivery. The RTD acts as a strategic technology partner to News Corp Australia, translating business priorities into technology outcomes and ensuring the BU can effectively leverage GT services, platforms, capabilities and expertise.

Key responsibilities
  • Build trusted relationships with regional and global leaders, manage major incidents and crisis situations by facilitating resolution and communicating to BU stakeholders, participate in change management and CAB activities, align business priorities with technology capabilities, and enable efficient and cost-effective services
  • Oversee regional infrastructure across data centres, networks, cloud, compute, storage and telephony, ensuring resilience, availability and performance
  • Provide strategic and matrix leadership across regional teams, supporting high performance, talent development and effective resource alignment
  • Drive regional execution of global infrastructure strategy, adoption of Core Tech & AI, and AI workflow integration to identify opportunities for automation, service improvement, simplification and cost optimisation
  • Own the local BU–GT alignment forum, bringing together business and technology conversations, priorities and feedback to create a clear view of key priorities, issues, dependencies and opportunities
  • Drive financial and commercial discipline across regional infrastructure, including budgeting, procurement, vendors, investment and cost optimisation
  • Drive adoption of global standards, architecture, governance and controls, partnering with Cyber Security to strengthen regional security and resilience
  • Connect regional teams with GT Services to align priorities, share expertise, leverage emerging technologies and identify opportunities for innovation and value creation
  • Strengthen leadership capability, develop talent and promote knowledge sharing and collaboration across regional and global technology teams
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline
  • 15+ years of IT management and/or technology leadership experience, ideally within complex, global and matrixed organisations
  • Broad experience across the IT service catalogue and end-to-end technology service management, including infrastructure, cloud, workplace, applications, Cyber Security, service management, project and programme delivery, and technology operations
  • Demonstrated experience operating as a senior technology relationship or account leader, translating business priorities into technology outcomes and effectively navigating complex stakeholder environments
  • Strong understanding of service delivery disciplines, including incident, problem, change and request management, service performance, escalation, continuous improvement and operational resilience
  • Experience leading or influencing technology transformation, project and programme delivery, service improvement and adoption of new technology capabilities
  • Experience working across technology governance, risk, compliance and Cyber Security, with an understanding of enterprise architecture, technology standards and controls
  • Experience managing technology budgets, suppliers and commercial relationships, with a strong focus on value, cost optimisation and business outcomes
  • Willingness to undertake occasional domestic and international travel to regional hubs, major data centres, office sites, and vendor summits
