Job summary

Wesley Mission is seeking a Team Leader for Foster Care & Youth Services to lead and grow Out of Home Care across the New England region, including Armidale. You will mentor staff, support carers and partners, and shape service development in a dynamic regional setting.

You will work closely with DCJ and community stakeholders, ensuring safe and nurturing environments while expanding referral pathways and recruitment. Strong leadership and trauma-informed practice are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Human Services or a related discipline.
• Experience with children, young people and families in care settings.
• Experience building partnerships and networking with stakeholders.
• Ability to mentor staff and carers and provide professional guidance.
• Strong written and verbal communication; report writing and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow foster care and Supported Independent Living services across the New England region.
• Provide guidance, mentoring and supervision to staff, carers and stakeholders.
• Build strong local partnerships and strengthen referral pathways.
• Oversee carer recruitment, case coordination and service growth.
• Ensure safe, stable, nurturing environments for children and young people.
