Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline is highly regarded.
• Extensive leadership experience in civil construction and road infrastructure.
• Ideally 10+ years in a senior operational leadership role.
• Proven experience managing large-scale operations or business units.
• Strong commercial acumen to analyse financial performance.
• Proven ability to develop strategic client relationships and win new business.
• Outstanding leadership with a track record of high-performing teams.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Strong commitment to safety, environmental performance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop multiple operational teams across Southern & Central West NSW and the ACT.
• Drive profitable growth through targeted project acquisition, tendering and business development activities.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with Local Government Authorities and key industry stakeholders.
• Maximise operational performance through effective utilisation of labour, plant and materials.
• Oversee forecasting, budgeting, cost control and financial performance across the region.
• Build and manage a robust supply chain, including supplier and subcontractor relationships.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality and service delivery.
• Provide strong leadership, coaching and development to create an engaged, high-performing workforce.
• Champion a strong safety-first culture and embed Downer's Zero Harm principles across all operations.

Downer is seeking an experienced Regional Manager - Southern & Central West NSW & ACT to lead our asphalt, spray seal and civil operations across the region including our depots at Hume, Bathurst, Forbes and Mogo. Based out of Hume, ACT, this is a strategic leadership role with responsibility for business growth, operational performance, client engagement and the development of high-performing teams across the region. This role offers the opportunity to influence business performance, strengthen key client partnerships and develop a sustainable and scalable operational footprint across Southern & Central West NSW and the ACT.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

ABOUT YOU
