Job summary

Snowy Monaro Regional Council is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair a broad mix of late model plant across three workshops in Berridale, Bombala and Cooma. You will ensure safe operations, assist with procurement and complete workshop documentation, while attending callouts as needed.

The role requires a Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or related discipline, a Class C licence, and the ability to work unsupervised. Regional NSW employment benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Certificate III qualification or above in heavy vehicle mechanical technology or related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain/maintain RMS inspectors and NSW Fair Trading Tradesperson Certificate Motor Mechanic.
• Experience with motor vehicles, heavy plant or heavy road construction maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a broad mix of late model plant and equipment across multiple workshops.
• Ensure a clean, safe workshop environment and that vehicles meet safety requirements.
• Attend callouts and breakdowns and assist with procurement and paperwork.
