Job summary

Department of Education Victoria is seeking a Regional Finance Officer to support regional budget management and deliver financial, administrative and reporting tasks. The role operates within the Regional Finance Unit, with the North Eastern Victoria Region and other regional offices as critical zones.

You will handle budgeting, forecasting, data analysis and governance tasks, reporting to the Regional Finance Manager.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in business, accounting, finance, commerce or equivalent (desirable).
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and exposure to Power BI or similar data visualisation software (essential).

Responsibilities

• Financial reporting, including tracking regional budgets, expenditure and forecasting.
• Data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Supporting the Regional Finance Manager with administration tasks including processing accounts, journals, budget preparation and budget monitoring.
• Maintaining and improving processes, procedures and non-compliance controls within the scope of role.
