Job summary

Reef Catchments, based in the Mackay region, leads environmental and natural resource management projects to support healthy landscapes and communities. You will direct programs, manage budgets and teams, and partner with Traditional Owners, industry and government to deliver tangible regional outcomes.

The role involves coordinating funding proposals, monitoring results, and ensuring projects stay on time and within scope, with occasional travel across the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, ecology, conservation, natural resource management or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience leading environmental or natural resource management programs with budgets, milestones, monitoring and reporting.
• Experience leading staff and managing performance, capability and workforce priorities.
• Proven ability to build productive relationships with community, industry, government and delivery partners, with regional travel.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and capacity for regional travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, resourcing, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of environmental projects to achieve outcomes.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, milestones and reporting.
• Lead and support a team of Project Officers in workforce planning and development.
• Build relationships with Traditional Owners, landholders, industry, government and funders.
• Oversee contractors and service providers to meet obligations and outcomes.
• Prepare funding proposals, reports and project documentation.
