Job summary

Reef Catchments invites an Environmental Projects Team Manager to lead a portfolio of environmental and natural resource management projects across the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region.

You will plan, resourcing, deliver and monitor projects to achieve agreed environmental outcomes, manage budgets and reporting, and mentor Project Officers.

You'll build strong partnerships with Traditional Owners, landholders, industry and government, promote continuous improvement, and support regional travel.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in environmental science, ecology, conservation or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading environmental programs or funded projects with budgets, milestones and reporting.
• Experience leading staff and managing performance and priorities.
• Ability to build productive relationships with community, industry, government and partners; valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, resourcing, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of environmental projects.
• Manage budgets, schedules, risks, milestones and reporting requirements.
• Lead and support Project Officers through workforce planning and development.
• Build relationships with Traditional Owners, landholders, industry and government agencies.
• Oversee contractors and service providers to meet contracts and quality standards.
• Prepare and review funding proposals, reports and project briefs.
• Ensure monitoring and reporting provide reliable evidence of outcomes and continuous improvement.
• Identify and manage project, financial, operational and reputational risks.
• Represent Reef Catchments at meetings, forums and community events.
• Collaborate with managers to support organisational priorities and workplace culture.
