Job summary

Amazon in Sydney is seeking an Electrical Colo Regional Engineer to provide full life-cycle support to data centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will be the go-to engineering resource for your region, applying subject-matter expertise and coordinating with Operations, Construction and Design teams.

Ideal candidates will have 6+ years of engineering experience in mission-critical facilities, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and strong project-management

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power, etc).
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience in engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment/facilities.

Responsibilities

• Review colo design with vendors for new Data Centers in your region, incorporating AWS products.
• Act as resident engineer during colo construction; support commissioning and handover.
• Troubleshoot, perform RCA, and document corrective actions for site/equipment failures.
• Support operational issues with ad-hoc training, SOP reviews, and event support.
• Provide design support for existing data center upgrades to add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency.
• Support operating partners to review and approve colo upgrade designs.
• Interface with design engineering, server hardware, and EH&S teams to promote standards and reliability.
• Work on concurrent projects across regions.
• Initiate and lead site audits; produce risk reports with mitigations.
