Job summary

Australian Department of Employment and Workplace Relations is seeking an EL1 Data Analyst to lead qualitative and quantitative analysis of regional jobs and skills issues, supervising staff and engaging with stakeholders.

Reporting to the Director, the EL1 Data Analyst will provide technical direction, develop analytical outputs, and respond to ad-hoc requests while building credible, publication-ready insights for policy and program delivery from the Jobs and Skills Australia initiative.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in an analytical discipline such as economics, mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related field - Essential.

Responsibilities

• Leading the design, delivery and quality assurance of qualitative and quantitative data analysis, ensuring methods are robust and insights are suitable for reporting.
• Overseeing the preparation of analytical outputs, data tables and supporting material to create compelling narratives, with publication-ready results.
• Providing technical direction to support reporting, dissemination and policy use, collaborating with stakeholders and technical specialists to resolve complex analytical issues.
• Communicating analytical outputs and findings through presentations and forums, engaging with stakeholders as product users and data custodians.
• Providing leadership in a collaborative team environment, including coaching and supervising staff.

Education
