Job description

Australia’s leading inclusive social enterprise, Avenue is far more than a day program - we are a pioneering national network of thriving hubs and micro-enterprises where people of all abilities come to gain a sense of community, grow, and contribute while delivering high-quality products and services. We bring world-class learning and social opportunities to individuals regardless of their support needs.

What began as a single hub in Frenchs Forest has rapidly expanded into a dynamic footprint across the country, currently empowering 650 participants across five thriving micro-enterprises. Our participants join real teams, share in the profits, and exercise true choice and control over the social and community activities they access. We are also proud to work alongside a growing network of business partners who initially came for the high-quality service and stayed for the team!

Now, Avenue is bringing its category-defining model north as we expand operations into Queensland.

Avenue is one of the flagship enterprises built by Fighting Chance, an organisation dedicated to designing and scaling social ventures that move the dial for Australians with disability and their families. Together, we are inspired by the vision that people with disability have unbridled access to opportunity, dignity, and prosperity within a truly inclusive society.

THE ROLE:

This role reports directly to the General Manager – Expansion. The Regional Coordinator is responsible for managing all day-to-day operations and activities of the Avenue Day Program. The role exercises operational leadership, team coordination and service oversight to deliver high-quality, person-centred day program activities which may include digitisation and other micro-enterprises. The role ensures participants are supported to achieve their personal goals, foster social connections, and engage meaningfully in daily activities.

WHY YOU’LL LIKE US:
  • We think we have an unbeatable workforce, and so we want to recognise and support our staff. A role at Avenue means you’ll have:
  • Collaborative and positive work culture with professional development opportunities and a strong training and learning culture
  • Salary Packaging which means more money in your pocket by paying less tax!
  • Purpose centred work
  • Up to four wellness days per year
  • Employee referral bonuses
  • An opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, helping to build a fantastic workplace culture
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Oversee the daily delivery of commercial digitisation contracts and micro-enterprise streams, adapting tasks into meaningful, accessible day-program activities tailored to participants' abilities and goals.
  • Act as the primary operational contact for external business clients—managing workflows, project timelines, weekly progress updates, and task completion status.
  • Deliver direct support, implement behaviour support strategies, administer medication safely, and track participant progress toward individual NDIS goals.
  • Maintain open communication with families and support networks, drafting progress reports, support letters, and NDIS review documentation.
  • Provide floor leadership and supervision to Support Workers, conducting pre-briefs/de-briefs, fortnightly 1:1s, performance management, and ongoing mentoring.
  • Coordinate staff rosters and daily task allocations, effectively matching team strengths with participant support requirements.
  • Ensure high-quality daily journal entries, run sheets, and sign-offs in Supportability for accurate NDIS billing, while managing incident reporting under organisational governance.
  • Oversee day-to-day activity budgets and expense reconciliations, while maintaining a safe, WHS-compliant, and welcoming environment.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • A passion for and experience with working with people with disability.
  • Dedicated to empowering participants to achieve personal goals, build life skills, and drive meaningful community inclusion.
  • A proactive, creative, and energetic problem-solver.
  • Outstanding organisational skills and ability to work in a highly dynamic environment with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated excellence in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships, and the ability to influence and work collaboratively with peers, employees, external organisations, funding bodies and government agencies.
  • Ability to foster a positive team environment, role-model organisational values and provide constructive guidance to others.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in supporting challenging behaviours is desirable but not required
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Have the right to work in Australia
  • Possess or be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a Provide First Aid (HLTAID003)
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a Working With Children Check
  • At least 1 years experience working in the allied health and disability industry and or relevant university degree
  • Possess a current unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or attend events on occasion as required.

Avenue is not ‘your average’ day program! So, if you are not ‘your average’ employee, we want to hear from you!

As a values-based organisation supporting marginalised communities across Australia, we value lived experience and cultural diversity. We encourage applications from people with disability and from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
