Job summary

Alcohol and Drug Foundation is seeking a Regional Community Development Manager in Canberra or Sydney, hybrid role with interstate travel. Lead a team of SCDOs delivering ADF programs including Good Sports and LDAT, partnering with stakeholders and driving outcomes.

The role requires a health promotion/public health background, strong leadership, CRM experience, and excellent communication. We offer not-for-profit salary packaging, generous leave, learning opportunities, and flexible work

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate qualification in health promotion, social sciences, public health, business management or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of preventing and reducing harms caused by alcohol and other drugs.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams to achieve outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal communication and public speaking at workshops and conferences.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and stakeholder networking.
  • Experience using CRM systems to plan and report service delivery.
  • Current driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational program leadership and planning to meet KPIs.
  • Develop partnerships with peak bodies and government to support delivery.
  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and manage SCDO teams.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM to monitor and report service outcomes.
  • Assess CAPs with LDATs and provide quality feedback.
  • Support SCDOs to engage clubs for Good Sports participation.

Why this role?

As our Regional Community Development Manager (RCDM), based in either our Sydney or Canberra offices, you will lead, coach and motivate a team of Senior Community Development Officers (SCDOs) who have primary responsibility for the delivery of new and existing ADF programs, including the Good Sports and Local Drug Action Team (LDAT) programs. Working closely with the State Manager, you will have the opportunity to identify and foster key stakeholder relationships, represent the ADF at internal and external forums, and identify new program and funding opportunities.

Some Of Your Key Activities Will Include
  • Operational program leadership, including effective service delivery planning to achieve State/Territory targets and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain community and program partnerships, including with peak bodies, local and State governments, and community organisations, to achieve strategic outcomes and support program delivery.
  • Effective recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and performance management of SCDO team.
  • Effectively use the ADF’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (Salesforce) to plan, monitor, forecast, evaluate and report on service delivery targets and outcomes.
  • Assess the quality of Community Action Plans (CAP) developed by LDATs in collaboration with SCDOs and provide feedback on quality and adherence to program objectives.
  • Support SCDOs to proactively identify and engage with clubs that would benefit from participation in the Good Sports program.

You are well versed in working to key performance indicators as well as actively seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • The following skills and experience will be essential to your success in the role:
  • Undergraduate qualification in health promotion, social sciences, public health, business management or a related discipline.
  • A strong understanding of and passion for, preventing and reducing harms caused by alcohol and other drugs.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including confidence engaging with program stakeholders and at public speaking events such as workshops, conferences, and expos.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including an ability to network and engage with community and program stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience using CRM systems to plan, monitor, forecast, evaluate and report on service delivery targets and outcomes.
  • A current driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
