Job summary

Cancer Council Queensland is seeking a part-time psychologist to join its Psychology Service in Rockhampton. You will deliver evidence-based counselling via telephone, video conferencing and face-to-face to clients affected by cancer.

This permanent 22.5-hour role offers a regional caseload, monthly supervision, and opportunities for professional development within a trauma-informed, strengths-based team.

Qualifications

• Registration as a psychologist with AHPRA.
• Experience in health/clinical/counselling psychology, preferably in oncology.
• Skills in the delivery of evidence-based telephone, video teleconferencing and/or face-to-face psychological interventions.
• Be eligible for a Medicare Provider.
• An understanding of the psychosocial impact of cancer on individuals, partners and families; bereavement, grief and loss training valued.
• Postgraduate qualification in psychology is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based counselling via phone, video conferencing or face-to-face.
• Work with clients affected by cancer, including patients and families.
• Maintain a diverse regional caseload and participate in community events.
• Access supervision with senior psychologist and engage in CPD opportunities.
