Job summary

Evolution Mining is seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic to join our Underground Electrical Maintenance team at Ernest Henry Operations. You’ll diagnose faults, maintain underground refrigeration and air conditioning systems, and contribute to reliability across fixed plant assets.

Based at Ernest Henry, reporting to the Supervisor – Underground Fixed Electrical Maintenance, you’ll mentor apprentices, support compliance and record-keeping, and help drive safety and continuous improvement in a

Qualifications

• Licence requirements: Full Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Licence (ARC) and a Restricted Electrical Licence.
• Experience in industrial refrigeration maintenance, ideally in mining, resources or heavy industry.
• Proactive safety mindset and ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and troubleshoot underground refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
• Support asset reliability through quality maintenance and compliance-focused work practices.
• Monitor and maintain water systems and Legionella risk management.
• Complete accurate maintenance records, work orders and compliance documentation.
• Provide technical support and contribute to maintenance and asset improvement initiatives.
• Mentor apprentices and support capability development within the maintenance team.

What’sthe opportunity?

As a Refrigeration Mechanic within our Underground Electrical Maintenance team, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring underground refrigeration and air conditioning systems remain safe, compliant and reliable.

Working across a range of underground infrastructure and fixed plant assets, you’ll diagnose faults, perform maintenance and repairs, and contribute to the ongoing reliability and performance of critical refrigeration and cooling systems that support our underground operations.

Based at our Ernest Henry Operations and reporting to the Supervisor – Underground Fixed Electrical Maintenance, you’ll:

• Support asset reliability through quality maintenance and compliance-focused work practices

• A Full Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Licence (ARC)
• A Restricted Electrical Licence as a minimum requirement
• Experience in industrial refrigeration maintenance, ideally within mining, resources or heavy industry
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities
• Experience working with maintenance systems such as Pronto and maintaining compliance records
• A proactive approach to safety, continuous improvement and mentoring others.
