NB Trades and Services is a well-established Australian trade services provider seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic for a full-time role in Toowoomba, QLD. You will install, service, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems, diagnosing faults and performing preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or certification in refrigeration and air conditioning (Certificate III or IV in Refrigeration).
• Minimum of 3-5 years' hands-on experience in refrigeration and air conditioning installation and repair.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles, thermodynamics, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing equipment specific to refrigeration systems.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work independently and make sound technical decisions.

NB Trades and Services is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis in Toowoomba, QLD. This is a pivotal position within our technical operations, where you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems for our diverse clientele. As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of cooling systems across commercial and industrial applications, directly contributing to our reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair refrigeration and air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial clients with a large focus on Supermarkets and large cold store environments
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in cooling systems using specialised diagnostic equipment
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative servicing to ensure optimal system performance
• Conduct system inspections and provide detailed reports to clients regarding system condition and recommendations
• Test refrigeration systems for leaks, pressure levels, and overall functionality
• Replace faulty components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and refrigerant lines
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and environmental standards when handling refrigerants
• Maintain accurate records of all work completed and materials used
• Liaise with clients to understand their cooling requirements and provide technical advice
• Respond promptly to emergency repair calls and provide out-of-hours support when required

What we're looking for

• Trade qualification or certification in refrigeration and air conditioning (such as Certificate III or IV in Refrigeration)
• Minimum of 3-5 years' hands-on experience in refrigeration and air conditioning installation and repair
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles, thermodynamics, and electrical systems
• Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing equipment specific to refrigeration systems
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work independently and make sound technical decisions
• Valid Australian driving licence and access to reliable transport
• Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces and at heights if required
• Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customer interactions
• Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development and stay current with industry developments
• Preferred: Experience with commercial kitchen refrigeration, industrial cold storage systems, or vehicle air conditioning
