Job summary

Gold Coast Health is seeking a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician to join a stable, supportive team on the Gold Coast. The role involves independent work across community sites with opportunities to liaise with customers, perform corrective and preventative maintenance, and contribute to quotations.

You will apply your certified trade qualifications and licences, participate in an on-call roster, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic as a requirement.
• ARC Handling Licence required.
• Restricted Electrical Licence required.
• Must participate in on-call roster.
• Driver Licence required.
• Vaccination evidence or ability to be vaccinated.
• TB screening as required.
• Criminal history screening will be conducted.

About the Maintenance Unit

Maintenance sits within the service line of Asset Management Services within People and Operations and comprises of a Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Coordinator, Administrative staff, Trade Coordinators and approximately twenty trade staff including Apprentices. Included in the trades are Electricians, Plumbers, Fitters, Painters, Carpenters, Refrigeration Technicians and Gardeners.

About Your New Role

Start and finish your day at Robina working across community sites as part of an established and supportive team. You'll have the opportunity to work independently while also collaborating with your colleagues to get the job done. This includes:

• Undertaking corrective and preventative maintenance work in accordance with work requests and relevant work instructions
• Liaising with customers to understand and respond to their corrective and preventative maintenance requirements
• Contributing to the preparation and provision of quotations for work as required
• Applying high-quality technical skills and knowledge to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, within required timeframes and cost-effectively

Qualifications and Experience

• The possession of a recognised Australian trade qualification - Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (or equivalent) is a requirement for this role
• The successful applicant will be required to possess an Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) Handling Licence
• The successful applicant will be required to possess a Restricted Electrical Licence, as a minimum
• This position is required to provide 24-hour maintenance service by participating in on-call roster as required
• Driver Licence
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

• The following allowances may be applicable for those employed under the BEMS certified agreement (No.8):
• Skill infrastructure delivery and maintenance allowance - $45 per fortnight
• Tool allowance - $31.92 per week
• Note allowances will most likely increase after the new EA is agreed and implemented
