Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Recycling Centre Assistant in Bundamba, QLD. This casual role supports the Recycling Centre Manager and Officers with daily operations of Salvos Container Recycling Bundamba, focusing on friendly customer service while ensuring efficient centre operations.

Responsibilities include receiving, counting and sorting containers, operating a forklift when required, handling cash, and contributing to a clean, safe retail area.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service experience in a retail environment with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Strong time-management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operations of Salvos Container Recycling Bundamba to ensure the centre runs efficiently.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, maintain cleanliness, stack and move crates using a forklift, and drive the Pantech truck when needed.
• Provide respectful, friendly, and helpful customer service at all times.
• Count and sort containers, ensure correct storage and preparation for third-party collection.
• Operate the cash register, complete reconciliations, and handle cash in line with TSA policy.
• Follow all site processes and procedures; perform additional duties as directed by the manager.
