Job summary

Wellways is recruiting a full-time Support Coordinator for Mackay, Queensland, to work in the Aftercare program helping individuals after a suicide attempt. This role focuses on intake, assessment, and delivering practical non-clinical support to consumers and families for the first three months following a suicide attempt.

You will assist in creating safety and support plans and ensure continued connection to crucial services while engaging with vulnerable groups in the community.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications or commensurate experience in mental health or community services, generally a minimum of Certificate IV.
• Experience with people bereaved through suicide or exposure to trauma.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Police Records Check.
• Driver's Licence and willingness to travel.
• Blue Card - Working with Children Check.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• NDIS Workers Orientation Module - Quality Safety and You - online course.

Responsibilities

• Manage intake and assessment processes for individuals referred to Wellways.
• Deliver non-clinical care and practical assistance for the first three months after a suicide attempt.
• Help participants develop safety and support plans and connect them to essential services.
• Engage with vulnerable groups in the community and enhance social connections.
