Bupa Australia is seeking a Medical Receptionist for casual and part-time roles at our Darlinghurst and Pitt St clinics. You will warmly greet patients, register new patients, manage bookings, and handle payments and insurance inquiries to keep the practice running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have GP medical receptionist experience and familiarity with Best Practice software. You’ll support a fast-paced team and be a key link between patients and clinicians in a welcoming, efficient environment.

Qualifications

• Must have Medical Reception experience
• Must meet the availability specified for the desired role
• Previous GP Medical Receptionist experience is ideal
• Best Practice experience is advantageous

Responsabilités

• Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner, ensuring a positive experience from arrival to departure.
• Register new patients and update existing patient information accurately in the clinic's system.
• Hold experience in managing appointment bookings efficiently, coordinating with medical staff to schedule consultations, tests, and follow-up appointments.
• Have previous experience in processing payments, health insurance claims, and billing inquiries, ensuring accurate documentation and maintaining confidentiality.
• Ensure the reception area is kept clean, organised, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Monitor inventory and request supplies as needed.
• Demonstrate a high level of teamwork, support, engagement and communication with the general practice nursing team.

The purpose of this job

As our Medical Receptionist, you'll be the warm, professional voice that greets patients when they need care most. You're not just answering phones - you're creating calm out of chaos, turning anxious moments into reassuring experiences, and keeping our practice running like clockwork. Your day will be dynamic: coordinating appointments, connecting patients with the right care team, answering questions with confidence, and ensuring everyone who walks through our doors feels heard and helped. You'll be the vital link between our patients and medical staff, making sure nothing falls through the cracks and everyone gets the support they need, when they need it. What you’ll need to make it possible

For the part time position(s), availability required is:

Role 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Role 2: Two (2) days per week (8:45AM to 5:45PM)

Casual hours will be available to cover annual and sick leave and staffing shortages.

• Ability to support both our Darlinghurst and Pitt St practices (15 min walk between the two)
• Previous GP Medical Receptionist experience is ideal

• Best Practice experience is advantageous
