Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a Rear Loader Driver to join the Recycling & Waste team and deliver a safe, reliable waste collection service for the community.

Qualifications

• Base salary of $81,044 plus 12% superannuation
• Additional Customer Experience Allowance of $109.20 per day (Driver Only)

Work-Life Balance

About the Role

As a Rear Loader Driver, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of domestic and commercial waste and recycling across the Sutherland Shire.

Working as part of a dedicated crew, you'll operate waste collection vehicles, complete daily safety checks, and help deliver high-quality services to residents and businesses throughout the community.

Job & Finish Flexibility

Work as part of a supportive driving crew where teamwork matters and everyone shares the same goal: getting the job done safely, efficiently and to a high standard. The focus is on achieving outcomes, not watching the clock. Complete the day's work early and you may have the opportunity to head home before finishing time. When workloads increase, the team rolls up its sleeves and works together to ensure the job gets done and the community is well served.

About You

You'll bring:

• A current HR Driver Licence
• Experience operating heavy vehicles, ideally in waste collection or a similar environment
• Strong commitment to safety and customer service
• The ability to perform physically demanding work
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Basic mobile device and data entry skills

Additional Information

• Package: $81,044 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation. Plus applicable allowances.
• Hours of work: Working 38 hours per week working a 9 day fortnight. Applicants must be able to work a range of shifts from 4:00am Monday to Friday.
