Job summary

SQC Silicon Quatum Computing in Sydney is hiring a Software Engineer for Control & Error Correction to build the realtime engine inside our quantum computer. You will work on the Realtime Quantum Control Plane spanning FPGA hardware and software interfaces, with tight latency budgets and cross-team collaboration.

You will contribute to the NISQ pulse compiler, logical measurements, and decoder paths while coordinating with physicists and platform engineers to ensure scalable, low-latency control

Qualifications

• 4+ years building systems software in production.
• Proficient in Rust or C++ and Python for tooling, analysis and test.
• Hard realtime experience with latency budgets and deadlines.
• Concurrency and memory-mapped hardware awareness.
• Ability to reason about worst case scenarios and real-time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the realtime scheduler across FPGA mesh and QPU resources.
• Maintain and extend the NISQ pulse compiler translating pulse-level operations to hardware instructions.
• Implement logical measurement, Pauli frame tracking and inter-QPU operations across chiplets.
• Work on the decoder path including neural network decoders in the cluster layer.
• Bring up and operate the mesh alongside Platform & Infrastructure and CI/CD paths on real hardware.
• Document the design, interfaces, and measurements for future engineers.
