Job summary

The Talent Pool is recruiting for an HGV Driver Class 2 to join a Tamworth-based recycling operation. The role involves safe collection and transportation of waste, using bin and skip trucks, with day work from 07:30 to 16:30, Monday to Friday and occasional Saturdays.

You will perform vehicle checks, maintain records, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements. CPC and HGV Class 2 licenses, plus prior waste management experience, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum valid HGV Class 2 license.
• CPC qualification (Certificate of Professional Competence).
• Previous experience as HGV driver, preferably in waste management.
• Strong knowledge of HGV maintenance and safety regulations.
• Excellent driving and navigation skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive the bin trucks and skip trucks.
• Carry out daily vehicle condition checks as required.
• Record and report vehicle defects.

HGV DRIVER Class 2 (Skip & bin recycling collection vehicle)

We are recruiting for a family run Recycling Company based in Tamworth, Day work Monday to Friday starting 07.30am finish 4.30 pm each day occasional Saturday where necessary

As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transportation of waste in line with customer requirements. Your role is crucial to ensuring the seamless operation of our site and supporting our commitment to environmental sustainability .Loads can be loose, baled or contained within various size skips

Key responsibilities include

• Driving the Bin trucks and Skip trucks
• Carry out required vehicle condition checks as required on daily or weekly basis in accordance with company policy (Drivers Manual)
• Recording and reporting vehicle defects
• Carry out assigned collection and delivery targets on a daily/weekly basis.
• Be 100% compliant with health, safety, smoking regulations and environmental requirements.
• Maintain written and electronic records as required.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the assigned company vehicle to agreed standards.
• Communicate information that could potentially improve customer service or increase business.
• Work flexibly in line with the requirements of the depot.
• Communicate effectively with helpers (where relevant) and ensure their health and safety.
• Participate in company mandated training.

Qualifications

• Minimum Valid HGV Class 2.

• Previous experience as an HGV driver, preferably in waste management or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of HGV vehicle maintenance and safety regulations.
• Excellent driving and navigation skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £17.00 per hour

Experience:

• Driving: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• HGV Class 2 Driving Licence (minimum)
• Minimum of 3 points
