Job summary

PRA in Melbourne is seeking a hands-on React & React Native Developer to build customer-facing features across mobile and web on a shared React Native, React and TypeScript codebase.

This immediate-start contract runs through to March 2027 with strong potential to extend, in a hybrid setup requiring three days in the office each week.

Qualifications

• Around 5 years' commercial software engineering experience.
• Commercial experience in React Native (mobile) and React (web).
• Daily, hands-on use of Cursor or a comparable AI coding tool in your current or most recent role.
• Clear written and verbal communication and confidence asking smart questions.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features across mobile (React Native) and web (React).
• Own your work end to end, from implementation and testing through to deployment.

About the opportunity

Join a well-known national retail brand as a hands-on React & React Native Developer in its digital team. You'll work across mobile and web on a shared React Native, React and TypeScript codebase, building customer-facing features that are used at real scale. This is a chance to get your foot in the door with a major retail brand on an immediate-start contract through to March 2027. With significant new work planned for 2027, there is high potential to extend.

The role

• Build and ship features across mobile (React Native) and web (React)
• Own your work end to end, from implementation and testing through to deployment
• Work to well-defined requirements, asking the right questions early to clear blockers
• Uphold engineering standards through clean code and thoughtful code review
• Use AI coding tools every day to lift the speed and quality of what you deliver

What you'll bring

• Around 5 years' commercial software engineering experience
• Commercial experience in both React Native (mobile) and React (web)
• Daily, hands-on use of Cursor or a comparable AI coding tool in your current or most recent role
• Clear written and verbal communication, and confidence asking smart questions
• The self-motivation to manage your own work without heavy direction

Nice to have: TypeScript and some backend exposure (ideally Node.js), Azure (strong AWS also welcome), and experience on a high-traffic consumer app in retail, loyalty or personalisation.
