Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a hands-on Team Member Rapid Response to maintain parks, sports fields, reserves and open spaces. You will mow lawns, maintain gardens, set up community events and prep fields for seasonal use.

You will also install/remove goal posts and wickets, repair infrastructure and operate various plant and truck equipment. The role emphasizes team collaboration, responding to urgent requests, and contributing to safe, accessible public spaces.

Qualifications

• Hands-on outdoor maintenance experience.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Mow lawns and maintain gardens in parks, car parks and medians.
• Prepare sports fields for seasonal use and mark lines.
• Install and remove goal posts and cricket wickets; cover/uncover wickets as required.
• Repair damaged infrastructure and install temporary barricades.
• Operate mowers, tractors, tip trucks, loaders and water trucks.
• Respond to urgent requests and support service delivery during staff absences.
