Job summary

Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation QLD – Monto QLD is seeking a WOO4 Ranger to assist with supervising staff and coordinating weekly work programs across Queensland Parks and Wildlife estates. A key focus is Kroombit Tops National Park, emphasising protection for endangered species and pest/weed/fire management.

You will work as part of a team or independently, operate minor fleet equipment, and promote the parks to visitors while maintaining a strong safety focus.

As a WOO4 Ranger you will work under the direction of the Ranger in Charge to assist with the supervision of staff and coordinate the planning and delivery of weekly work programs across Queensland Parks and Wildlife protected area estates.

One key focus area involves management of Kroombit Tops National Park with a strong emphasis on protection for critically endangered species including the Kroombit tinkerfrog, Kroombit treefrog and monteiths spiny crayfish. To achieve these goals rangers are undertaking extensive programs of pest, weed and fire management.
