Job summary

Parks Victoria in Victoria's conservation parks is seeking a dedicated Ranger to help protect park values, support biodiversity, and deliver quality visitor experiences. You will manage track and outstation maintenance, road and carpark upkeep, and contribute to project work across diverse landscapes.

The role requires practical land-management skills, comfort working outdoors, strong teamwork and communication, plus respect for Traditional Owners and community partners.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in conservation, land management or field-based work.
• Ability to work safely in outdoor and physically demanding environments.
• Practical skills and experience in land management.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on-ground works including track and outstation maintenance, road and carpark maintenance.
• Provide exceptional visitor experiences and support project works.
• Involve pest plant and animal management and native vegetation management.
• Engage with Traditional Owners and support fire, emergency management, and compliance activities.

About the role

Parks Victoria is seeking a passionate and skilled Ranger who is interested in using their skills and experience to manage, protect and maintain park values and assets, support great visitor experiences and to protect biodiversity. You will be part of a team who deliver in park services as directed by the Ranger Team Leader.

In this role, you'll be accountable for the delivery of on-ground works including, but not limited to, track and outstation maintenance, road and carpark maintenance, providing exceptional visitor experiences and supporting project works. You will also be involved in pest plant and animal management, native vegetation management, Traditional Owner engagement, fire and emergency management, visitor engagement, and compliance activities.
