Job summary

KBR in Perth, Western Australia is seeking a Civil Track Engineer to contribute to delivery of rail transport projects. You will design, specify and provide engineering services for permanent way, track structures and related civil works, reporting to the Civil Team Leader.

You will mentor junior staff, work across locations nationally as needed, and ensure deliverables meet QA standards while supporting budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• On the pathway to obtaining CPEng and RPEQ within 3 years.
• On the pathway to obtaining designer competencies for track and civil engineering within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review deliverables to ensure compliance with technical and QA standards.
• Develop complex rail track engineering tasks from concept to detailed design.
• Prepare and check rail alignment, earthworks modelling, and track drainage designs.
• Create and review rail alignment, formation, and earthworks drawings.
• Conduct and validate calculations using manual methods and software.
• Prepare and review reports and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with other disciplines in transport like road and drainage design.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Deliver complex work within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Engage with peers, clients, suppliers, authorities and other consultants.
• Manage small projects or oversee work packages on larger projects.
