Job summary

KBR Civil in Perth seeks a Civil Track Engineer to join our team delivering rail transport infrastructure projects. You will design, specify and provide engineering solutions for permanent way, track structure and associated civil works, reporting to the Civil Team Leader.

You will mentor junior engineers, develop designs from concept to detailed design, and collaborate with road, drainage and structural teams across WA and national projects.

Qualifications

• Major transport infrastructure project experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• On the pathway to CPEng and RPEQ within 3 years.
• On the pathway to designer competencies for track and civil engineering within 6 months.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD and Bentley OpenRail; 12D experience is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, interpretive and communication skills.
• Experience in business development and marketing activities is desirable.
• Interest in continuous improvement of technical knowledge.
• Ability to manage project and proposal budgets.
• Previous consulting/design experience in infrastructure as Track & Civil Engineer.
• Experience on PTA projects or understanding PTA EM4P procedures.
• Experience with ARC infrastructure, ARTC, freight rail, etc.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering deliverables to ensure QA standards.
• Develop complex rail track design from concept to detailed design.
• Prepare and check rail alignment, earthworks modelling and drainage designs.
• Create and review rail alignment, formation and earthworks drawings.
• Conduct and validate calculations using manual and computer methods.
• Prepare reports and technical specifications.
• Provide design solutions with other transport disciplines (road, drainage, structural).
• Ensure documentation is technically sound and clear.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, designers and drafters.
• Deliver complex work within budget, schedule and quality requirements.
• Engage with peers, clients, suppliers and authorities.
• Manage small projects or work packages on larger projects.
