Job summary

Martinus Group is seeking an experienced Safety Lead to provide strategic and operational safety leadership across our Australian business, spanning major rail projects, the Plant division and corporate safety systems.

In this role you will influence project teams and senior management, ensure compliance with Australian WHS legislation, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance and culture across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior safety role within rail, construction, infrastructure or similar high-risk industries.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and rail safety requirements.
• Experience managing safety across major projects and plant environments.
• Proven experience managing audits, accreditations and compliance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence leaders and translate safety into practical outcomes.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach and commitment to keeping people safe.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS, Safety, Risk or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational safety leadership across major rail projects and the Plant division.
• Support project teams to identify, manage and mitigate safety risks.
• Maintain and continually improve safety systems, processes and standards.
• Maintain safety accreditations, certifications and registrations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and address findings.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
• Coach and support leaders and frontline teams.
• Drive continuous improvement and strengthen safety culture.
• Report safety performance and risks to senior leadership.
