Job summary

UGL Regional Linx (UGLRL), a subsidiary of UGL, headquartered in Orange, NSW, seeks a Rail Safety & HSE Specialist to oversee rail safety requirements and ensure compliance with network rules and procedures. You will work under the Head of HSE, mentoring teams, conducting site visits, and driving safety initiatives across NSW regional depots.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational rail safety environments.
• Experience in rail safeworking requirements.
• Experience in delivery of safety initiatives and training.
• Demonstrates an understanding of Risk Management principles, controls hierarchy.
• Good knowledge of HSSE and Quality Systems.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct accident/incident investigations, risk assessments and hazard/injury management processes.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor on rail safety, conducting site visits for mentoring and support.
• Prepare reports of site visit compliance with SMS and Rail Safety National Law.
• Provide support for rail safety operational activities and during shutdowns.
• Develop site-specific safety management documentation (plans and risk assessments).
• Monitor compliance with safety controls and report incidents or hazards for prevention of recurrence.
• Conduct audits of Safety Management System compliance and update SMS documentation.
