Job summary

Pacific National in Greta, NSW is seeking an Operational Training Specialist to shape the capability of our frontline teams and ensure safe, efficient operations. You will develop training plans, coordinate trainees, and partner with leaders to close capability gaps.

Reporting to the Training Manager, you will drive learning programs, monitor competency, and support continuous improvement across the rail operations. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory alignment, and workforce readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience in training coordination, learning and development, workforce capability or operational training environments.
• Proven experience developing and implementing training plans and competency frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across multiple business areas.

Responsibilities

• Drive training capability by planning, coordinating and supporting programs.
• Report to Training Manager and develop annual training plans.
• Coordinate trainee programs, training schools and workforce development initiatives.
• Identify capability gaps with leaders and trainers to design solutions.
• Monitor competencies and training compliance requirements.
• Support continuous improvement focused on workforce capability and training effectiveness.
