Job summary

Transport for NSW in Newcastle is seeking an experienced Controls/Network Engineer to support the Country Regional Network. You will ensure the safety, integrity and performance of critical network control systems, while leading initiatives and troubleshooting complex issues.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (or equivalent) is required and a valid Australian driver’s licence.
• Strong technical expertise in rail network engineering and management.
• Experience in configuration, troubleshooting, and optimisation of network systems.
• Proven ability to engage vendors and lead network infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Work within a respected team delivering safe, efficient rail network operations for the CRN and ensure integrity of control systems.
• Provide expert technical support for development, implementation and maintenance of network management systems.
• Lead configuration management, authentication and logging to meet safety and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external providers to improve reliability and performance.
• Drive secure, resilient network solutions in a complex environment; travel intrastate as required.
