Job summary

Aurizon is seeking a Tradesperson Mechanical at the Avon depot (Northam) to maintain locomotives, wagons and rolling stock with emphasis on safety and reliability for smooth freight operations across WA.

You will perform routine and corrective maintenance, interpret schematics and drawings, and ensure WH&S compliance. Training is provided; strong earning potential includes penalties and paid lunch breaks.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification or equivalent is mandatory.
• Locomotive/rolling stock experience preferred; training provided.
• Strong fault-finding and ability to read schematics and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on wagons, plant and infrastructure.
• Ensure work complies with WH&S requirements and technical specs.
• Maintain asset records, maintenance programs and costing data.
• Report progress against the scheduled work program.
• Advance quality improvements through updated procedures.
