Job summary

CPB Contractors Pty is seeking a motivated Planner to support planning on a major rail infrastructure project. The role combines office and site work, offering hands-on exposure to construction programmes, progress tracking, schedule updates and project reporting while working with cross‑functional teams to learn planning methods and project controls.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in construction, civil engineering, rail, building or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of construction programmes and scheduling software.
• Genuine interest in project planning and maintaining schedules.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
• Organised, detail oriented and proactive in problem solving.
• Understanding of WBS, EVM, reporting and change management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, maintenance and updating of construction programmes (Primavera P6 and other planning systems).
• Monitor progress by gathering site data and updating programmes to reflect actual progress.
• Prepare project progress reports, schedule updates and performance tracking for the delivery team.
• Collaborate with engineers, construction personnel and subcontractors to understand upcoming activities and resource needs.
• Identify risks, delays and opportunities for improvement and escalate where required.
• Participate in planning workshops and project coordination meetings to build planning knowledge.
