Job summary

SJM Rail Signalling Pty Ltd in Balmain and across NSW is seeking a Contract Administrator to join the commercial team, supporting multiple infrastructure projects. This hands-on role works with Project Managers and leadership to ensure strong contract management, cost control, and favourable commercial outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in construction management, business, or law, with 3+ years in contract administration within rail or infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Essential degree in construction management, business, law, or related discipline.
• 3+ years experience in contract administration (construction, rail, or infrastructure).
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Confident communicator able to work across multiple stakeholders.
• Proactive, reliable, and solutions-focused.

Responsibilities

• Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and service agreements.
• Manage contract correspondence, notices, and compliance tracking.
• Maintain registers including variations, claims, and obligations.
• Support progress claims, variation assessments, and cost tracking.
• Validate subcontractor claims and supplier invoices.
• Manage tendering and procurement of trade packages.
• Assist with procurement and subcontractor onboarding.
• Prepare commercial reports and support monthly cost reporting.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation in line with company systems.
• Liaise with internal teams to support project delivery outcomes.
