Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Service Technician for a hands-on role in Rydalmere, NSW. The successful candidate will work on mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical rail equipment, with comprehensive training and clear career progression within a safety-first team.

Responsibilities include fault diagnosis, testing, calibration, and documentation, while adhering to EHS policies and 5S standards in a collaborative workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical/electric trades (e.g., Fitter, Electrician, Electro-Mechanical, Diesel Mechanic).
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing or assembling heavy mechanical, pneumatic or electrical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and service manuals.
• Safety-first mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and hold a valid Australian Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, disassemble, overhaul, and reassemble mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical rail equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on client gear.
• Perform functional testing, calibration, and commissioning using specialised test rigs and measuring tools.
• Complete accurate service logs, inspection reports, and QA paperwork for every job.
• Follow strict EHS policies, safe work procedures and maintain workshop 5S standards.
